CONVENTION HIGHLIGHTS

Well another convention under our belts.   Was nice to get together as always doing our Eagle Business and having some fun with our Eagle brothers and sisters.

MAKE A WISH:   STATE PRESIDENT'S CHARITY

Wow, This year was great. Our members throughout the state did a great job and we were able to make 12 Wishes come true for 12 deserving children.
   The Total monies we raised which were announced at the Convention banquet was
   $84,009.00.   Congratulations Nebraska   and to Madam President Sharon Brown and Worthy President Bob Shores for a wonderful year and wherever you went on your visits the Aeries supporting a "Make A Wish" Event. Since the convention we have had some additional funds come in at least $2000,00 so we have not gotten the final total.

   Our New State President's Charity, "Special Olympics" started out Saturday, At the Presentation Friday (at the State Aerie's meeting), a hat was passed and $771.00 was collected to start it off. The women also raised a bunch at their meeting. Saturday NIght, our good Brother Darwin Thomas Jr-Past Iowa State President did an auction for us and we raised close to $6,000.00.

That's the way to have a convention!

This year the Grand Aerie reported that $63,489.85 was sent in for the Grand Charities.
We received 16 grants totaling $82,954.50.
   Nebraska Aerie's donated locally in the amount of $129,167.91.

That puts a total of $296,131.41 that Nebraska Aeries has donated to charity. That is truly Great....

And last but not least on the humor side. At our Incoming State President's Reception, our own Past State President Larry Rief of North Platte entertained us by a dive into the Hot Tub. NO, it wasn't planned. The Nebraska State Dive Officials scored him a 3. Better Practice Larry!

Thanks to everybody who sent their reports in on time. We still did NOT receive reports from 15 Aeries. We need to get their secretaries involved, so we know what the true picture is of our State Aerie
